Contraindications for Exercise

There are many contraindications for exercise and these are not meant to frighten you, if you are in doubt please check with your midwife, consultant or contact Go Figure to discuss.

  • Vaginal Bleeding
  • Out of breathe prior to exercise
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Chest pain
  • Muscle weakness
  • Calf pain / swelling
  • Preterm labour
  • Decreased fetal movement
  • Amniotic fluid leakage
  • Uterine contractions that persist longer than 15 min, not affected by rest or change of position
  • Visual Disturbance
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Persistent nausea/vomiting-
  • High Blood Pressure / preeclampsia
